Who are the Bunun people?

The Bunun are one of Taiwan’s indigenous tribes, living mainly in the mountains of Taitung and Hualien. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, strong community bonds, and deep connection to nature. The Bunun are especially famous for their unique polyphonic singing, traditional festivals, and intricate knowledge of the land and wildlife.

Despite how special and unique the Bunun people are they face many different challanges every day.

Children's reality

Many Bunun children live in remote areas of Taitung, facing challenges like limited access to quality education, healthcare, and resources. Despite these obstacles, they are determent, curious, and full of potential.

Hearts for Taitung exists to support these children not just with Care Kits and donations, but also through cultural exchange and community connection. By providing resources and opportunities, we help them pursue their dreams, and gain a brighter future, while sharing their unique culture with the world.
